OUR NATIONAL TRAGEDY

Dear Eastern Region,

On this day of great national tragedy I'd like you all to know that I have personally contacted sixteen of twenty chapters that might have been impacted and by the grace of God there have been no tragedies to report. Those that I have been unable to reach are due the busy circuits, however, I will continue to try.

I ask God to grant you all the wisdom to understand the actions of today and to somehow find a way to explain to our children and to comfort them as well. I encourage all of you who are able to go to your nearest Red Cross station and donate blood to help those who may be in need of it.

To those chapters that I have not been able to contact, please know that you are all in our prayers and the Eastern Region is ready, willing and able to aid you in any way.

Tonight I leave you all with a prayer by the Reverend Yvonne Howze...

"O Lord, our God, how excellent is Thy name. God we are grateful for Your protection. You are our refuge and our strength and our help in times of trouble. You are the One who shields us from the fiery darts of danger. The hateful acts of injustice, persecution, criticism, condemnation and malice have no power over us. In the midnight of terror, God we thank You for the calm assurance of knowing that we do not have to be afraid. You have promised to deliver us and deliverance is certain. We rest in the comfort of Your love. Amen."

>Dear Mothers,
>
>On such a day as today, let us remember to keep Jack and Jill families
>in our prayers. I hope and pray that our families have not been touched
>with this event. But with many of our families working in the financial
>district, the D.C. area, or flying on airplanes, I just pray that we are
>safe. Please advise us immediately if there are any families in your
>region that have been impacted.
>
>We in the Los Angeles area are still on alert. At this time there is
>still one plane unaccounted for and several international flights still
>LA bound. So remember to keep us in your prayers as well.

>Sisterly,

SKI DAY for the JUNIOR TEENS

The junior teens of the Northern Virginia chapter had a wonderful ski trip to the Whitetail Ski Area in Pennsylvania on Saturday the 20th of January. A good time was had by all, from the first time skiers and snowboarders to the old skiers who were able to revive their skills. The weather was great, not too cold, and we got a little snow. The skiers/snowboraders would like to thank our support personnel (the moms and dads) and the trip coordinator, Denise Fox, and her staff. It was a blast!!

Please come back to this website for news of past and future NOVA Jack and Jill activities.
